Diversified Partners with Mayor’s Kids and Jobs Program

The City of Birmingham Mayor’s Office Division of Youth Services puts hundreds of Birmingham’s youth to work each summer and this year Diversified Maintenance was able to be a part of this amazing initiative! This was our first year partnering with the Mayor’s Office and the Kids and Jobs Program. Every spring, Birmingham’s youth ages 14-24 are invited to apply for age-appropriate employment opportunities through the Kids and Jobs Program.  Please take a minute to meet our awesome and hard-working intern who we had the pleasure of working with for four incredible weeks.
I`m Lyric Reed, a recent HBCU Grad from Tennessee State University. Born in Birmingham Alabama where I also received my high school diploma from Huffman High School. My experience and degree is in the field of communications and production. I`ve had hands-on experience in sports and media production. My interest sparked in that field from my interest in behind the scenes work, camera operating, set design and anything production. I love seeing a body of work and pieces come together. My first love and passion is dancing. I have always loved music and moving. It’s a language that I can speak. It’s art, creative and fun! I`ve had the opportunity to work for the Fox 6 kids & Jobs program for three years and it has been amazing each time. The most recent internship I worked on was with Diversified Maintenance, where I was to work on projects with Ms. Wylesha in a beautiful office space and I absolutely loved it! I plan to stay open and take advantage of all opportunities in my field for experience!
Congratulations to Lyric on her internship with Diversified! We wish her the best in all her future endeavors!
